You will beat it with custom ground (Brazed carbide or solid HSS) when tool style becomes an issue (Can be the issue for work/tool deflection, Finish, Hard to reach spaces, Internal work of any type because you often want tool .... But reality is that the common brazed carbide that the OP refers to does not sharpen to a "razor edge" very well, lacks the best rake angles, and generally has a large nose radius that will mess him up as badly as the lack of a sharp edge. ...
